JOAN LIES Joan Lies, 69, of Hatboro, passed away in the caring hands of the staff of Abington Memorial Hospital Hospice, Tuesday, July 9, 2012, after her courageous three year fight with lung cancer. She was the wife of 48 years of Norman Lies. Born March 11, 1944, in Queens, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ethel and Edward Matson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, Christopher Lies and Dawn Burrell; and her four grandchildren, Hunter Lies, Kyle Burrell, Tyler Burell and Jessica Burrell. She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Dilorio, William Matson, Barbara Mancini and Ethel Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Matson. After working in various industries over the course of her life, including banking, textiles and insurance, Joan retired at the age of 62. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. Family and friend are welcome to come visit and celebrate Joan's life at Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, Friday July 12 from 3PM until the time of the service at 4:30PM.
