JOHN BENEDICT John L. "Jack" Benedict , 76, of 8170 Park Dr., Harrisburg, formerly of Lansdale, died Sunday July 1, 2012, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Born in Pottsville, February 20, 1936, He was a son of the late John and Pauline (Pisco) Benedict Jack worked at Philco and Zenith before retiring from the North Penn School District where he worked in maintenence for 20 years. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hershey and previously St. Stan's in Landsdale. Jack loved his church, the company of his family and watching sports on TV. He especially enjoyed going to the movies with his nephew, Paul. He will be greatly missed by his two sisters, Mildred Love, of Lansdale and Barbara Savini, her husband and Jack's good friend Frank, with whom he resided in Harrisburg. Uncle Jack was much loved by his nine nieces and nephews; 20 great- nieces and nephews; and a great-great- niece. He was preceded in death by his good friend and brother in law Donald Love. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM Friday from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 10th & Mahantongo Sts., Pottsville. The Rev. David Loeper will be officiating. Friends may call from 9:30 AM to 10:30AM Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Children's Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, 600 Centerview Dr., Hershey, PA 17033 or Pennstatehersheycmn .org, in honor of his great nephew Vinny Savini.
