John T. Eyre Obituary
JOHN EYRE John T. "Jack" Eyre, 85, of Dock Woods Community, passed away October 23, 2012 with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Ettinger) Eyre with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 15th, of this year. Born February 11, 1927 in Haddonfield, NJ, he was a son of the late George F. and Florence (Harman) Eyre. After 60 years working in the insurance business, Jack was retired from E and M Insurance Agency, where he was a partner. He also held many memberships in various organizations within the insurance industry. Jack was a dedicated member of Lansdale United Methodist Church for 50 years. He was a long time member of the Lansdale Kiwanis Club and also served on the board of the Lansdale YMCA. Above all else, Jack will be remembered by family and friends for his generosity to family, being hard working and dedicated, and for the quick wit and friendly personality that always had those around him smiling. Lastly, Jack's family would like to thank the fantastic staff of the Harmony House at Dock Woods Community who provided the most loving and compassionate care to both he and his family. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his daughters, Beverly Morgan and her husband, Carl, of Harleysville, Cynthia Scheetz and her husband, William, of Lansdale, and Phyllis Mann and her husband, William, of Telford; six grandchildren, Kimberly Schnabel and her husband, John, Matthew Morgan and his wife, Kristin, Laurie Snyder and her husband, Brent, Paul Scheetz, Alexandra Mann, and Victor Mann. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Brayden and Evan Schnabel and Chase Snyder, who affectionately knew him as Pop-pop-pop. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Robert Eyre. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 7 to 9PM Friday, October 26 at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale and again from 9 to 10:45AM Saturday, October 27 at the Lansdale United Methodist Church, 300 N. Broad St. Lansdale, PA 19446 where the funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's name may be made to the Lansdale United Methodist Church, address above, or to the Dock Woods Sharing Fund, 275 Dock Dr., Lansdale, PA 19446.
