Obituary Condolences

LARRY BARNDT Larry "Pete" "Barney" Barndt, 70, died April 4, 2012, at his Harleysville residence. He and his wife, Darlene K. (Young) Barndt, observed their 48th wedding anniversary last month. Born March 16, 1942 in Telford, he was a son of the late Robert and Mabel Barndt. After schooling in the Souderton School District, Mr. Barndt became an apprentice at the former Souderton Bakery and then worked at the former Alderfer's Bakery in Harleysville. He later entered the excavation industry as a heavy equipment operator and was employed by J. H. Freed, Inc., P. K. Moyer & Sons, Inc., Scholl Brothers Excavating, Inc., and finally, Wolverine Constructors, Inc. Mr. Barndt was a life-long member of Little Zion Lutheran Church of Telford. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, and fishing trips to Canada for many years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Allan S. Barndt of Harleysville and Travis K. Barndt of Sellersville; a sister, Mary Thomas of South Carolina; two brothers, Nevin Barndt and his wife, Larene, of Lake Wallenpaupack, and Ralph Barndt and his wife, Janet, of Harleysville; and a grandson, Kyle Barndt. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Mae Barndt, Roy Barndt, Sarah Springer, and Ruth Barndt. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 7PM Thursday, April 12, at Little Zion Lutheran Church, 267 Morwood Road, Telford, PA 18969, where family will receive friends from 6PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the church. Condolences may be made to the family at www.WilliamsBergeyKoffel.com.
