Obituary Condolences

MAHLON NUDING Mahlon L. "Bud" Nuding, 89, of Harleysville and formerly of Elroy, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, February 6, 2012 at Grand View Hospital. He was the husband of Catherine (Knauss) Nuding, his wife of 61 years. Born May 13, 1922 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Louis F. and Meriam (Kniese) Nuding. Bud was employed as an air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic with Merck Sharp & Dohme for 40 years, retiring in 1986. He was a longtime member of Montgomery Baptist Church in Colmar where he was a former trustee and served on the Building and Cemetery Committees. Bud's hobbies included quilting, needlepoint, and serving as a general handyman for family and friends. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his children, Sharon A. Kinsey and husband, Bill, of Telford and Walter M. Nuding and wife, Betsy, of East Smithsville; six grandchildren, Timothy Kinsey and fiance, Melanie Hart, Elizabeth Adamson and husband, Robert, Patricia Meyers and husband, Mark, Benjamin Nuding and wife, Jessica, Michael Nuding and wife, Jamie, and Phillip Nuding; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Henrietta Smolenski of Roxborough, and Louise Mergen and husband, Paul, of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Perkins and Meriam Zerbe; a brother, Norman Nuding; and a great-grandson. The Funeral Service will be held 11AM Thursday, Feb. 9, at Montgomery Baptist Church, 510 Bethlehem Pike, Colmar, PA 18915. Relatives and friends may call after 9:30AM. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. For those desiring, contributions may be made in Bud's memory to Montgomery Baptist Church, address above. Arrangements are by the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
