Obituary Condolences

MICHAEL SOSNOWICZ Michael T. Sosnowicz, Esquire, 64, of Lederach, formerly of Colwyn, and Monmouth County, NJ, passed away Monday, January 30, 2012. He was the husband of Claire (Neiger) Sosnowicz since May of 1993. Born May 4, 1947 in Colwyn, he was a son of the late Michael and Stella (Pokorski) Sosnowicz. He was a graduate of Darby-Colwyn High School 1965, La Salle College 1969, and Temple Law School 1990. Mike served in the U.S. Navy after college and then began a successful career as an executive with the IBM Corporation in New York and Princeton. Then, he left the corporate world to run a marina in New Jersey with his brother, Edward. Looking for a new challenge he entered Temple Law School in his 40's and clerked and practiced in Philadelphia and then opened his own firm in Darby. He will be missed by many colleagues, clients and adversaries, whom he always considered very good friends. Mike marched up Broad Street as a Mummer and played the saxophone with the Woodland String Band in the 1960's and '70's and with the Ferko String Band in the 1980's. Mike also enjoyed the Eagles, Flyers, and the Wing Bowl. He enjoyed running, swimming and coached basketball for Souderton-Harleysville Youth Basketball Association. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Michael Sosnowicz, Jr. and his wife Denise, and Kelly Capaldi and her husband, Daniel, all of Wenonah, NJ; and Stasha and Stephen Sosnowicz, both at home; and a brother, Edward Sosnowicz of Colwyn. His zany humor and fun personality will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 1PM Friday, February 3 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 40 Spring Mount Rd., Schwenksville, with a gathering to follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to support melanoma research at Penn's Abramson Cancer Center and mailed to Penn Medicine Development, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
