Obituary Condolences

PHYLLIS GOULDEY Phyllis B. Gouldey, 82, of Hatfield, a long-time resident of Lansdale, passed away May 5, 2012 at Elm Terrace Gardens. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Andrew P. Gouldey. Born June 7, 1929 in Lansdale, Phyllis was a daughter of the late William E. and Blanche (Loux) Bryan. Mrs. Gouldey was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale. An active member of the Upper Gwynedd Lions Club, Phyllis served as past president and was the recipient of the Melvin Jones award in 1989. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Phyllis is survived by two sons, Bruce K. Gouldey, Ph.D. and his wife, Barbara, of Reston, VA, and Alan S. Gouldey and his wife, Barbara, of Perkiomenville; six grandchildren; six beloved great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Walton and her husband, Raymond, of Lansdale, and Hazel Walker of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. A viewing will be held 7 to 9PM Tuesday, May 8 at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale. Her funeral service will be held 11AM Wednesday, May 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 W. Main St., Lansdale, where friends may greet the family after 10AM. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' memory to the Upper Gwynedd Lions Club, designated Gouldey Memorial Fund, c/o Herb Gerhart, 1 First St., Hatfield, PA 19440.
