Preston W. Heckler Obituary
PRESTON HECKLER Preston W. Heckler, 88, of Montgomeryville, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Abington-Lansdale Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Jene M. Tweed Heckler. Born in Montgomeryville, he was the son of the late Isaac and Dorothy Weber Heckler. Mr. Heckler was a resident of Montgomeryville for all of his life. He was born, raised and lived in the same house throughout his entire lifetime. In 1960 he opened his own business, Preston Heckler Liquid Disposal in North Wales and had been active in running the business every day up until his passing. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited. In his leisure, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed the special times spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed as a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his four children, Susan H. Simonovich and her husband, Peter, of North Wales, John P. Heckler and his wife, Susan, of Perkasie, Karen J. Knapp of Honeybrook, and Clayton T. Heckler and his wife, Laura, of Sellersville. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His family will receive condolences Monday, June 17, from 10AM until Words of Remembrance at 11:30 AM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Avenue (at Sandy Ridge Road), New Britain. Interment will be private.
