Obituary Condolences

RICHARD WITNER Richard A. Witner, 71, of Perkasie, died Friday, June 22, 2012, in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Ervin) Witner. The couple had celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary May 8, 2012. Born in Silverdale, and raised in Weatherly, he was a son of the late William T. and Thelma A. (George) Witner. A machinist, Mr. Witner was employed by FMC/Link-Belt, Colmar, for 22 years until its closing. Then, he worked for the Leeds & Northrup Co. and later for Neptune Pumps, both of North Wales, and most recently as a courier for A & T Chevrolet, Sellersville. Over the years, Mr. Witner was a board member and coach for the Pennridge Community League. He also served as a coach for the Pennridge Little League. Mr. Witner served as a volunteer for the Perkasie Town Watch group during the 1980's. He was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Philadelphia Phillies. His interests included hunting, bowling, camping, playing poker and games, as well as, doing crossword puzzles. He especially enjoyed spending time on the family farm in Weatherly. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Brian A. Witner and his wife, Lilibeth, of Colmar, and Kevin R. Witner and his companion, Barbara Geiger, of Perkasie; two daughters, Sharon D. Tomkins and her husband, Raymond, of Sellersville, and Tricia M. Esser and her husband, Scott, of Ottsville; seven grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Tyler, Janina, Cassie, James and Alyssa; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Witner and his wife, Rosalie, of Beaver Meadows, Raymond Witner and his companion, Ruth, of Tamaqua and Gerald Witner and his wife, Lorraine, of Hazleton; and a sister, Norma Brobst, of Weatherly. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Duane Witner. His Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 27 at 3PM in the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 2PM until service time.
