STEVEN HEMPELMANN Steven K. Hempelmann, 54, of Harleysville, passed away June 20, 2013. He and his wife, Bertha (Lewis) Hempelmann, would have observed their 33rd wedding anniversary on July 5th of this year. Born October 5, 1958 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late H. Kurt and Joan (Leyrer) Hempelmann, and was a 1976 graduate of Pennridge High School. He was a licensed waste water treatment plant operator and was employed by Lansdale Borough for the last 17 years. Mr. Hempelmann was a coach for the Montgomery County Special Olympics Titans Basketball Team and served as Boys Scouts of America Leader for Venture Crew No. 25 of Doylestown. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Michael J. Long Council, and was a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Waste Water Treatment Plant Operators Assoc. He enjoyed listening to the Beatles and was an avid fan of the Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles. Above all, he enjoyed being active in all of his children's activities and was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Kathryn Nave and her husband, Christopher, Scott Hempelmann and his fiance, Meaghan Hammond, Marc Hempelmann and Allyson Hempelmann; and a granddaughter, Adelyn Hempelmann. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday, June 24, from 6 to 8PM at Williams-Bergey-Koffel Funeral Home, 667 Harleysville Pike, Telford (Franconia Twp.), and to his Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10AM at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 445 N. Main St., Sellersville, where another viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45AM. Burial will be private at St. John Neumann Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Variety Club Camp, 2950 Potshop Rd., Worcester, PA 19490.
