Obituary Condolences

THOMAS TAGLANG Thomas J. Taglang, 75, of Telford, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at his residence. He was the husband of the late E. Janet (Rappold) Taglang who died in 1997. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of the late Frank and Sadie (Ferry) Taglang. He was employed as a social studies teacher and coach at the Colonial School District, Plymouth-Whitemarsh for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1993. Following his retirement, he worked part time as a driver for Bergey's Automotive, and also as a seasonal employee at Yellowstone National Park. Mr. Taglang was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sellersville. He served on the Telford Borough Authority Board for over 30 years, and was a member of the Red Oak Hunting Club, Over the Hill Ski Club, and the Harleysville Rod and Gun Club. An avid sportsman and Philadelphia Phillies fan, he also enjoyed skiing, traveling, boating, and serving as a Habitat for Humanity carpenter volunteer. He is survived by a daughter, Janine M. Taglang-Visnov and her husband, Michael T., of Phoenixville; three sons, Steven W. Taglang and his wife, Lisa, of Enola, Thomas A. Taglang and his wife, Kelsi, of Van Nuys, CA, and Matthew A. Taglang and his wife, Lisa, of Ardmore; eight grandchildren; a brother, James B. Taglang and his wife, Dorothy and two sisters, Genevieve Urella and Rose Sullivan, all of Bethlehem. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Francis Taglang. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11AM in the Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groff's Mill Rd., Harleysville. Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11AM prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia, 321 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002.
