WILLARD DETWEILER Willard D. "Bill" Detweiler, 90, of Harleysville, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Grand View Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Alice J. (Landis) Detweiler, for 67 years. Born on the family farm in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Samuel R. and Eva (Alderfer) Detweiler. Willard was a lifelong member of Rockhill Mennonite Church, where he was song leader for 40 years. He later led singing at Souderton Mennonite Homes. Willard sang in Gospel Light Men's Quartet, Rockhill Men's Quartet, Life with God Quartet and Rockhill Mixed Quartet. He led many chorus' songs with the children at Rockhill. Willard had a butter and egg route into Philadelphia for 28 years, then worked for the former Clearview Farms and Sommermaid Creamery, retiring in 1985. After retirement, he worked part-time for Rittenhouse Poultry at market in Wayne. Some of his hobbies were fishing and hunting. He loved singing, his wife, children and their children. In addition to his wife Alice, he is survived by two children, Pamela L. Landis and W. Scott Detweiler and his wife, Geralyn B.; one sister, Betty D. Gehman; two grandchildren, D. Lucas Landis and wife, Tara, and Amanda S. Landis and companion, Brandon Miller; two step-grandchildren, Christina Convery and Sean Convery; and two great-grandchildren, Emerson R, Landis and Adah S. Landis. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Rodney F. Landis. His funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 13, 2PM at Rockhill Mennonite Church, 3100 Meetinghouse Road, Telford, where viewing will be held from 12 to 2PM. Burial follows in the church cemetery.
