Obituary Condolences

WILLIAM ALDERFER William A. Alderfer, 90, of Hatfield, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Lansdale. He was the husband of Mary M. (Koder) Alderfer. The couple would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary in April. Born in Telford, he was the son of the late Henry and Sallie (Buchanaur) Alderfer. Mr. Alderfer was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, serving from 1942 to 1945 in Army Intelligence. Bill was employed with American Electronics Laboratories in Colmar for 24 years, before retiring in 1986. He owned and operated Alderfer's Treasurers in Lahaska, for nearly 20 years. He was also a member of the Hatfield Lions. In his free time he enjoyed painting, working with model trains and fishing. Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Beverly L. Hamel and her husband, Bud, of North Carolina; three sons, William D. Alderfer and his wife, Paulette, of Georgia, Ken R. Alderfer and his wife, Alicia, of Virginia and Henry R. Alderfer and his wife, Michelle, of Hatfield; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Gertrude Benner and her husband, Harold, of Red Hill; and three brothers, LeRoy Alderfer of Lansdale, Ralph Alderfer and his wife, Helga, of Hatfield, and Carl Alderfer and his wife, Judith, of Sellersville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday Feb. 22, at 2:30PM at the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 N. Main St., Telford. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. The Family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:30PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the , 150 Monument Rd. Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
