William "Bill" Liegel, Sr., 84, of Lansdale, formerly of Jackson, NJ, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, February 1, 2014 surrounded by family at his home.|
Mr. Liegel was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served after WWII in Japan with the 82nd Reconnaissance Unit; his job was transportation and truck driving.
Continuing his Army occupation after serving, William was employed for many years as a bus driver for NJ Transit, now known as Transport of New Jersey. His pastimes included; auto-mechanics, cooking, travel, and carpentry. In his later years, he became connected to the ministry of the Lansdale Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending with his family and participating in a home Bible study.
Surviving are his son, William Liegel, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Lansdale; eight grandchildren, Molly, Josh, Toby, Lucinda, Easter, Haven, Geoffrey, and Betsy; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Viola Metrose of Jackson, NJ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Angela and Delanore; and six siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in a memorial celebration at Lansdale Presbyterian Church, 450 Oak Park Road, Lansdale on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 2:00pm. Light refreshments will follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Angie Liegel Memorial Fund, a student mission scholarship fund, C/O: Lansdale Presbyterian Church, at the address above.
