THEODORE HESKE JR. Theodore Heske Jr., 75, of Harleysville, passed away, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Einstein Montgomery Hospital, East Norriton, PA. He was the beloved husband of the late Marie A. (Williams) Heske, to whom he was married for over 51 years. Born September 20, 1938 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Theodore and Sarah (Wood) Heske. Ted was a graduate of Norristown High School and attended Lehigh University. He joined his father in the steel industry at Elwood Ivins Steel Tube Company prior to his marriage to Marie in 1960. His love of history, especially the Revolutionary War era, lead him to pursue his passion of antique firearm collecting and restoration. He used his deep knowledge of metallurgy and his superb craftsmanship to restore and replicate vintage firearms with compelling historical accuracy. He also was active as a real estate agent in the Oberholtzer Realty Office in Norristown, Pa. Mr. Heske was a 50-year member of the First Pennsylvania Regiment of the Continental Line (First PA) and the Brigade of the American Revolution. He served as Commander for the First PA for several terms as well as a host of other positions. He was a Life Member of the Pennsylvania Antique Gun Collectors Association where he served as a Director and as the Sgt. At Arms, for many years. He was elected the first President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Society of Quality Control now known as the American Society for Quality where he also held a Lifetime membership. He was a Golden Eagle (Lifetime Membership) of the National Rifle Association, a member of the Asa Packer Society as an active alumnus of Lehigh University, the Philadelphia Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Kimberton Fish and Game Association of Phoenixville, and the Train Collectors Association. He is survived by three children, Christine H. Taunton and her husband, David M. of Plymouth Meeting; Suzanne M. Heske and her life partner, Denise DeRosa, of Bosque Farms, New Mexico; and Theodore Heske III and his wife, Jill, of Suwanee, Georgia, and three grandchildren, Michele and Michael Taunton, and Julian Heske. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at 11 am on Saturday, May 24 at the R.L. Williams Jr. Funeral Home Inc., Skippack Pike at Cedars Rd., Skippack with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in West Norriton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
