EDITH P. NEBHUT Edith P. Nebhut, 87, formerly of Coopersburg, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, in the Rockhill Mennonite Community, Sellersville. She was the wife of the late Charles Nebhut. Edith was born in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Ludwig G. and L. Alice (Frazier) Pilgren. She was a secretary for Nutter Mortgage Service, Philadelphia from 1945 - 1952. She served as a pre-school teacher at the First Presbyterian Church Allentown for 24 years before retiring in 1995. Edith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Allentown where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Women's Association and Dorcas Circle, a Deacon, a member of the Pastoral Care Team, Parish Coordinator for the Southern Lehigh Area, and Den Mother of the Cub Scout Troop. She was a volunteer at the Allentown Ecumenical Food Bank, the Valley Manor Nursing Home, Coopersburg and the West Rockhill Elementary School, Sellersville. Edith was a participant at the Abington Health Adult Day Services Program in Lansdale, where she enjoyed serving as a Bingo caller. She was lifelong Phillies Fan. Survivors: Sons, David H. and his wife Kathleen of Fairfax, VA, Bruce C. of Coopersburg, Mark A. of Allentown, daughters, Nancy N. wife of Richard Moyer of Perkasie and Carole E. Nebhut of Aston, PA, sister-in-law, Katherine Pilgren of Levitown, eleven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brothers, Edward G. and John F. Pilgren. Services: A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church 3231 Tilghman St. Allentown. Call 10:30 - 11:00 A.M. in the church.
