Roger L. Galford Obituary
Roger L. Galford Roger L. Galford, 71, of Collegeville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of 47 years to Carol (nee Hedrick) Galford with whom he was united in marriage on July 28, 1966. Born September 8, 1942, in Dunmore, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Dewey H. and Madge (nee Moore) Galford. Roger retired from Merck & Co. after 32 years of employment. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Bottle Club, and had served on the North Wales Water Authority Board for 13 years. Roger was very active for many years with the Ambler Olympic Club, and on many occasions drove their bus for athletic events. In addition to his wife, Roger is survived by four children, Sheryl Welsh, of Lansdale, Sharyn Kinney (Gene), of Burlingame, CA, Sheila Grant (Scott), of Collegeville, Sharla Ehleben (Matthew), of Warminster; and eight grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446, where a Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 PM. Inurnment in West Virginia will be held at a later date. Roger's family has respectfully requested that all flowers be omitted, and instead that anyone wishing to do so, make a memorial contribution in his name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, PO Box 780, New York, NY 10008, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 100 W. 10th Street, Wilmington, DE 19801, either which would be deeply appreciated by his family.
