CLYDE DERSTINE LANDIS Clyde Derstine Landis, 84, of Franconia Twp., died on Monday July 14, 2014, at Peter Becker Community. He was the husband of Anna (Godshall) Landis, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage. Born on July 7, 1930 in Lower Salford Twp., he was a son of the late Linford A. and Susie N. (Derstine) Landis. He was a 1948 graduate of Souderton High School. He worked for Good Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. of Souderton for over 50 years, stepping down as President in 2001 before fully retiring in 2010. Clyde was a lifetime member of Salford Mennonite Church where he served many years on the finance committee and as his Sunday School class treasurer. He loved singing in church choirs and was a past member of the Franconia Lancaster Choral Singers. He enjoyed listening to gospel, orchestral and operatic music and was a long-time supporting member of The Metropolitan Opera Guild. He was also a financial supporter of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School and Mennonite Historians of Eastern Pennsylvania. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He and his wife traveled extensively over the years, their trip to Rome was one of their most memorable. Clyde loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters Jolene Landis of Telford, Nancy Gaugler and husband George III of Telford, son Dr. Bradley C. Landis and Kristen of Collegeville, nine grandchildren: George Gaugler IV, Nicholas Gaugler, Johanna Hudson, Emily Lampert, Kristofer Gerig, Leah Gaugler, Alysha Landis, Christian Landis and Justin Kozloski; five great-grandchildren: George Gaugler V, Elisabeth Gaugler, Sophia Gaugler, Samuel Lampert and Abigail Gaugler; three sisters Beulah Derstine of Souderton, Naomi Landis of Souderton and Mildred Moyer and husband Marvin of Owego, NY. A viewing for Clyde will be held on Sunday July 20 from 1-3 p.m. at Salford Mennonite Church, 480 Groffs Mill Rd., Harleysville, 19438, with the funeral service to be held at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made in Clyde's name to Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, 1000 Forty Foot Rd, Lansdale, PA 19446-4305.
