Stanley Metz Godshall Obituary
STANLEY METZ GODSHALL Stanley Metz Godshall - 75, of Silverdale, PA; formerly of Franconia, PA entered into rest on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of Shirley M. (Leatherman) Godshall for 56 years. Stanley was born in Franconia, PA to the late Jonathan & Mamie (Metz) Godshall. He was raised on the family farm in Franconia. Stanley was employed as a Truck Driver for Moyer & Son for 40 years. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and was a huge sports fanatic. Stanley liked writing poetry and traveling to Wildwood, NJ with his family. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Stanley was a member of Line Lexington Mennonite Church where he served as a former usher. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Margie Ann O'Rourke & husband, William of Norristown, PA, Dawn Romano & husband, Nick of Souderton, PA, Denise O'Donnell & husband, Terry of Hatfield, PA; a granddaughter, Kristy M. Romano of Souderton, PA; two grandsons, Nick Romano of Souderton, PA, Nathan O'Donnell of Hatfield, PA; a brother, Linnaeus Godshall & wife, Elsie of Souderton, PA; four sisters, Miriam Detweiler of Susquehanna, PA, Eva Greaser of Souderton, PA, Anna Landes of Harleysville, PA, Verna Detweiler & husband, Walton of Souderton, PA and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Godshall of Souderton, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willard, Ernie & Jonathan Godshall and three brother-in-laws, Ralph Detweiler, Robert "Bob" Greaser & Clyde Landes. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 11:00 am at Line Lexington Mennonite Church, 80 Hilltown Pike, Line Lexington, Pennsylvania 18932 where friends may view and meet with the family from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to: Line Lexington Mennonite Church, address above.
