Allison Elizabeth (Bladt) Fawcett Obituary
ALLISON FAWCETT Allison Elizabeth Bladt Fawcett, 32, of Lansdale, died Sunday, October 3, 2010, peacefully at home surrounded by family after a heroic 8 year battle with breast cancer. She was tenderly cared for by her husband Brian and 4 year old daughter Olivia. She is survived by her parents Anne and Bernie Smith, of Ottsville, and Bill and Audrey Bladt, of Sedona, Arizona, as well as siblings, nephews, nieces, many other family members, and loving friends. Allison was born December 25, 1977 and grew up predominantly in Lansdale, PA. She graduated from North Penn High School in 1996 and with her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education from Millersville University in 2002. She was a beloved teacher at Groveland Elementary in Doylestown, teaching 1st grade, reading support, and 5th grade. A tireless breast cancer awareness advocate, Allison was the highest fundraiser in the 2008 Philadelphia Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. Her team, "Hooters' Heroes," has raised over $250,000 for breast cancer research, and dedicates the 2010 walk in Allison's honor and memory. A Celebration of the Life of Allison Fawcett will be this Saturday, October 9th at 2PM at Groveland Elementary School, 1100 N Easton Rd, Doylestown, PA 18902.
