Obituary Condolences

RONALD FITZGERALD Ronald A. Fitzgerald, 77, of West Rockhill Twp., passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Twp. Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Samuel W. and Alverda (Knechel) Fitzgerald. A 1953 graduate of Souderton High School, he went on to graduate from West Chester State Teachers College with a B.S. in Education in 1957. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1958 to 1959. As a licensed real estate agent, he was employed by several area real estate agencies including Kenneth Kratz Realty and Century 21 in Lansdale. In his earlier years, he worked in management for U.S. Industries and for Villager Industries. He had also been employed as an elementary Math and English teacher in the Allentown and Souderton School Districts, and previously had worked for Sachman Brothers in Telford. Mr. Fitzgerald was a lifelong member of Little Zion Lutheran Church in Telford. He was also a member of the Bucks and Montgomery Counties' Chambers of Commerce, and the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors in Harrisburg, where he served on the Ethics Committee. An avid golfer, he was a part of the Pennridge Golfers Assoc. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his lifelong group of friends, his vacation home in Sullivan County, Philadelphia sports, hunting, and snowmobiling in NY. He is survived by a son, R. Patrick Fitzgerald of Forksville, a sister, G. Lorraine Guenst (Ernest) of West Rockhill Twp., a brother, Dennis P. Fitzgerald (Catherine) of Concord, NH, a sister-in-law, Debbie Fitzgerald of Morrisville, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Fay Snyder Fitzgerald, a brother, Richard W. Fitzgerald, and a niece, Susan Guenst. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 4 at 11AM in the Little Zion Lutheran Church, 267 Morwood Rd., Telford, PA 18969. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9 to 11AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Little Zion Lutheran Church at the above address.
