He was the husband of the late Sarah (Rossi) Lizell, his wife of 69 years, who died May 31, 2013. Born November 30, 1921 in South Philadelphia, he was the second son of the late Alfred and Alfina (Caltabiano) Lizzio. In 1955, Mr. Lizell and his wife moved from Philadelphia to Lansdale. Together, they founded Lansdale Office Supply Co. His family owned and operated the business for over 50 years. It continues today as Lizell Office Furniture in Montgomeryville, owned and operated by his son, Anthony. Mr. Lizell and his wife, Sarah, were highly successful real estate investors as well. The couple owned properties from Lansdale to Miami Beach, FL. In 1973, they purchased The Vendome Hotel in Miami Beach, two doors away from the famous Fontainebleau Miami Beach. Today, their daughter Carol continues their legacy as a Real Estate Agent. Their eldest son, Alfred, maintains properties still owned by the family. Survivors include his children, Alfred Lizell and his wife, Annette, of North Wales, Anthony Lizell and his wife, Patricia, of Fort Washington, and Carol Lizell and her significant other, Gary Lewis, of Collegeville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Salvatore Lizzio and Anthony Lizzio. Relatives and friends may call after 10AM Thursday, Oct. 24, at St. Stanislaus Church, 51 Lansdale Ave, Lansdale, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11AM. Burial will be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Pennsylvania SPCA or BeatCancer.org in Russell's memory. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
