Larry B. Smith Obituary
LARRY SMITH Larry B. Smith, 73, of Montgomeryville, passed away at home Wednesday, November 27, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Judy E. Smith for 42 years. Larry was born in Corpus Christi, TX to the late Eleanor and LeRoy Smith. He served in the U. S. Air Force and was a graduate of Metropolitan State College (BS) and University of Colorado (MS). He retired from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He is survived by his two daughters, Juli Smith and Kris Gudiel (Nelson); grandchildren, Alex and Harley; and siblings, Sandy Wood (Dick) and Richard Smith. He was preceded in death by his brother Tommy. He was a connoisseur of beer and spirits and enjoyed collecting, testing and making beer. He enjoyed listening to jazz and reading and watching science fiction books and movies. His family called him the "cat whisperer" because he was able to calm many of the cats rescued. Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service 3 PM Wednesday, Dec. 4, at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 1530 Augsburg Drive and Hilltown Pike, Hilltown, where the family will greet friends at 2PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry's name may be made to Stray Cat Blues, Inc., PO Box 8, Colmar, PA 18915 for TNR (trap, neuter, return) programs.
