Jay E. Keeley Obituary
JAY E. KEELEY Jay E. Keeley, 69, of Hatfield, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. He was the loving husband of Barbara A. (Searle) Keeley. Born September 21, 1944 in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Howard and Doris (McCarraher) Keeley. Jay was employed by Merck & Co., Inc. for 35 years, retiring in 2004 as a Packaging Mechanic. He was an avid golfer and loved rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Flyers. He also enjoyed playing trumpet for the Telford VFW Memorial Day services. Jay was always there to lend a helping hand and will be missed dearly by family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stacy Landis and her husband, Darren, of Green Lane, Kristen McMenamin and her husband, Matthew, of Schwenksville, and Michael Keeley of Souderton; three grandchildren, Nicole Cooney and her husband, Dennis, Ryan Landis, Korey Landis; and step-granddaughter, Ashlee O'Connell Keeley, of Hatfield, whom Jay and Barbara have raised as their daughter. Also surviving are Jay's siblings, Howard Keeley and his wife, Alice, of Hatfield, and Leonard Keeley and his wife, Elsie, of Telford. He is preceded in death by his step-daughter, Colleen O'Connell. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday, March 21, 2014 from 6 - 8pm at Trinity United Church of Christ, 101 S. Main St., Telford, PA 18969. The funeral service will follow at 8pm in the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ at the address above. Arrangements are by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
