Joseph Stackhouse Whiteside Jr.

1934 - 2015

Joseph Whiteside, Jr. Joseph Stackhouse Whiteside, Jr., 80, of Lansdale, and formerly of Harleysville, went home to be with his Lord Sunday, January 18, 2015. He was the husband of Ann (Osgood) Whiteside, whom he married March 25, 1961, at Willow Grove United Methodist Church. Born August 12, 1934 in Horsham, he was a son of the late Joseph Stackhouse Whiteside, Sr. and Mary (Haberley) Whiteside. Mr. Whiteside was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, and was stationed in Korea during that time. He later became a master mason and also taught students bricklaying and mason work. Joseph built his home in Harleysville that he shared with his beloved wife, Ann, and children for over 45 years. His hobbies included antique cars; and he was honored to own a Model A Ford and a Street Rod. Joe enjoyed traveling with Ann to various car events and spending time with his grandchildren, along with following the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Surviving are his children, Joseph S. Whiteside, III of Chicago, and Kim Braccia and husband, Domenick, of North Wales; brother, Wayne Whiteside of Harleysville; and five grandchildren, Alex Whiteside, Elizabeth, Domenick, Sebastian, and Melissa Braccia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gene Whiteside. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family starting at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 23, 2015 at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446 where his Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
