Connie F. Carpentier of Rolla, Missouri was born August 22, 1949 in Dickinson, North Dakota to the late William and Eileen (Bailey) Eichhorst, and entered into rest on July 10, 2014 in Rolla, Missouri at the ate of 64.
Connie graduated from Belfield High School in Belfield, North Dakota, in 1967 with honors. She attended North Dakota State University from 1967 to 1971. She was active in the Phi Mu Sorority serving as President 69-70. She was also a member of the NDSU Concert Choir. She graduated with a degree in History education.
Connie married Dale Carpentier July 2, 1971 in Belfield, ND. They moved to Savanna Army Depot in Savanna, Illinois where Dale was stationed. After Dale's discharge they moved to Fessenden, ND in October 1972. She worked in the county courthouse recording abstracts and deeds and was renowned for attention to detail and seldom if ever made a mistake. They moved to Minot, ND in 1974 where she worked for Montana Dakota Utilities in the office. In 1977 they moved to Bowman, ND and Connie got a job working for the Finder, an advertising newspaper which covered Southwestern ND. She laid out ads and helped lay out the paper. Later, she worked for MDU in their Bowman office.
In 1988 they moved again, this time to Bozeman, Montana, where Dale enrolled in graduate school at Montana State University. Connie found employment in the housing department at MSU. It was short term because they moved again in 1989 to Dickinson, ND. Connie didn't find work in Dickinson but that was OK because they moved again in 1990 to Watkinsville, Georgia so Dale could attend graduate school at the
University of Georgia
. Connie found employment with an insurance agency and real estate management business. She worked for them until they sold the business in 2002. At that point she retired and waited for Dale to do the same.
Dale retired from teaching June 1, 2008 and they sold their house and moved to Rolla in December of 2008. In July 2009 they finally moved to their farm south of Rolla. This was her dream house and she loved living in the country. She helped design the floor plan and picked out all the paint and furnishings. People were amazed at her organizational skills. She enjoyed hosting parties and Beta Sigma Phi meetings. She also looked forward to travel with Ginger to their Phi Mu summer reunions. Friends remember her for her sense of humor and lovely singing voice. She loved to dote on her sister's children and grandchildren. Family was a very important part of her life. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Connie is survived by her husband Dale; Brother, Dale Eichhorst and wife Joy of Houston, Texas; sister, Ginger Schneider and husband Dave of Rolla, Missouri; nephew, Jeff Schneider of St. Louis,Missouri; nieces, Carrie Burns and husband Matt of Columbia and Nancy Cline and husbansd Aaron of Houston, Texas; great nephews Luke, Hayden and Morgan Burns; great nieces Ava Cline and Avelyn Burns.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 4:00 PM at the Rolla Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Kuhlman officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Shriners organization or
