Bobby Dean Cruey, of rural Newburg, MO passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the age of 77.
He was born in Broadford, VA on May 27, 1937 to the late Brady and Sarah (Thomas) Cruey. On February 16, 1962 he married Elouise Bise Davidson and they were later blessed with six children. Mrs. Cruey preceded him in death on March 8, 2012.
In addition to Bobby's parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Cruey was a career Army Veteran retiring in 1982 earning the rank of Sergeant First Class.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his six children, Michael Cruey, of Edgar Springs, MO, Teresa Heavin and husband Kevin, of Edgar Springs, Kenan Cruey and wife Malinda, of Dixon, MO, Karen Wrinkles and husband Billy, of Beulah, MO, Vickie Wilson, of Vida, MO, and Cheryl Newman and husband Sam, of Edgar Springs; three brothers, Hughes Cruey, of CA, Harry Cruey, of VA, and Albert Cruey, also of VA; one sister, Eleanor Vanhoozer, of MD; eighteen grandchildren, which includes Ashley Cruey, of the home; numerous great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many dear friends.
A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 pm. Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Leonard Wood.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from noon to 1:30 pm. Monday at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Delbert Day Cancer Institute, being constructed at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, of which Mr. Cruey was an avid supporter.
