Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

I'll always remember how well Uncle Ian and Auntie Cath took care of me when I visited Bermuda with their niece, Heather. I've had a soft spot in my heart for both of them since. Godspeed, Uncle Ian, and my deepest condolences to Auntie Cath.

Condolences Kathy. Ian [Mike 1] was a canny lad and helped me a lot when he was my boss on MCPS. He was always an immaculate and super fit guy and was highly respected by his work mates. I just told Willy Hart the news and he sends his condolences. We both laughed about our time on the bikes with Ian. Especially when we were hanging around the office too long and Scotty would scream out in his Geordie accent,"Get out on the Road... you lot!" Happy memories of Ian but tinged with sadness today.

Ian was one of the good guys. He had a sense of humour about his job and liked interacting with young people. I got a few tickets from him but never felt anything other than respect for him. My condolences to his family.

I'm writing on behalf of the members of our Bermuda Ex-Police Officers Association to express our sadness on hearing of the death of retired Inspector Ian Scotland who served in the BPS from 1963-1988. Ian worked in a variety of departments during his police career, so many of us had served alongside him and knew him to be dedicated to the job. Our sincere condolences go out to Cathy.
