I write on behalf of the Bermuda Ex-Police Officers Association to express our sincere condolences to Lois and to all of the Simmons family on the loss of one of the most popular police officers to ever serve in the Bermuda Police. Hubert served the Island with distinction throughout his career and all of us who knew him will always carry fond memories of our oldest retiree who first wore the police uniform in June 1950.

To Mrs. Simmons and family,my sincere condolences on the passing of your husband,father and friend.I only met Mr.Simmons when he shared a room with my son Ralph in CCU he was a charmer,he had me smiling or gut busting laughing some days,but I looked forward to seeing what character he would be when I visited. My heartfelt condolences go to the family of Supt. Simmons. I have fond memories of him as a fellow golfer at Ocean View, seeking advice from Pro Herman Bascome to find that "fourth phase" in his game. A fine and modest gentleman. May he rest in peace.
