Margaret Geuther "Peg" Logan, 81, formerly of Pierre, South Dakota, died at Westview Healthcare Center on Sunday, January 26.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm at Feigum Funeral in Pierre.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:30pm, Friday, January 31, 2014 at Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery.
She was born on September 27, 1932 in Trevose, Pennsylvania to Edward and Dayse (Reid) Geuther. She grew up in an extended family, with cousins who were as close as siblings.  She graduated from Cheltenham High School, and received a Bachelor's degree in Education from Westminster State College.  She later attained a Master's degree in Education from Northern State College.  She married Charles "Chip" Logan in 1955, and had 40 years with him before he died.  They had a daughter Barbara.  The family lived in Mobridge, South Dakota, then in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Lander, before settling in Pierre. Peg moved to Sheridan to be near her daughter when she became ill with cancer.  She spent her entire career in education, first as a teacher, then as an elementary principal.  She worked in the Pierre school system for 32 years.  She was loved by students and teachers alike. She enjoyed travel, gardening, bird watching, and hunting, and mostly spending time with her cherished family and friends.  She was vibrant, adventuresome, and fun loving, and adopted "Why not?" as her slogan.
Peg was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved Chip, along with her nephew Edward Copeland.  She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ziegler and husband Bill of Banner, and her dear grandson Blaine Ziegler of Arlington, Virginia.  She is also survived by her sister, Jean Copeland of Pennsylvania; her brother-in-law Ronald (Janet) Logan of Pennsylvania; her cousins Alyse(Harry) Smith, Gale (Florence) Reid, Bickley(Jeri) Remmey, and Jeanne (Robert) Hoeppner of Pennsylvania, and Nancy Woron of Massachusetts.    Also surviving are her nieces Anne (John) Merrill of New Jersey, Nancy Keuthan of Florida, and Lynda (Dan Pietrzykoski) Logan of Pennsylvania; and their children Tyler and Casey Merrill, and Grant and Jordan Pietrzykoski.  Family and friends were her life, and she will be missed.
