PINKNEYVILLE - Jack Davis, 79, passed away peacefully, on April 30, 2013.
Jack was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was deeply loved and respected by those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda; his children, Pam Urbina, Stacy, and Michael; son-in-law, David; his grandchildren, Jack, Chloe, James and Gabrielle; stepgrandchildren, Michael, Jonathon and Katie; his sister, Deanna Greathouse; brother-in-law, John; niece, Tracey; and nephew, Tim.
Born in 1934, Jack was raised in Pinckneyville, by his parents, Charles and Kathryn, where he played basketball for the state champion Pinckneyville Panthers. Jack proudly served his country as a United States Marine and attended University of Illinois
, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and met his wife, Linda. Jack and Linda raised their family in Palatine. Jack was a successful businessman, who founded and served as CEO of CTI Industries. He later found great satisfaction in working as a consultant to small businesses as well as mentoring young people.
Jack was an avid golfer, loved spending time with family and friends and was a great storyteller. Jack and Linda spent their winters in Scottsdale, Ariz., and loved attending Scottsdale Bible Church. Jack's love for people showed in the way he invested in his family and community and made friends everywhere he went. His grandchildren were the joy of his life and they will miss him greatly.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, in Willow Creek Community Church at 67 E. Algonquin Road in South Barrington. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
