PERCY - Michael D. Van Ausdoll, 65, passed away at 6:26 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his son's home in Campbell Hill.
He was born June 26, 1947, in Red Bud, the son of Roscoe and Margaret (Repke) Van Ausdoll. Michael married Vickie Qualls on March 18, 1968, in Campbell Hill. She passed away May 28, 1981.
Michael was a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Navy
during the Vietnam War
. Michael was a Christian and loved to read his Bible. Michael wrote poems, did drawings, loved nature, hunting, fishing, living in the country and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his five sons, Michael R. Van Ausdoll of Campbell Hill, Matthew Van Ausdoll of Timminsville, S.C., Heath Van Ausdoll of Florence, S.C., Jesse Van Ausdoll of Hattisburg, Miss., and Lucas Van Ausdoll of Pamplico, S.C.; one daughter, Maggie Evans of Elkville; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Other survivors include his mother, Margaret Smith of Campbelll Hill; one brother, David Van Ausdoll of Marion; one sister, Angela Olinger of Campbell Hill; and one aunt, Barbara Slusher of Tremont.
Michael was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, in Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with Pastor Steve Evans officiating. Interment will be in St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery in Campbell Hill. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Wilson's Funeral Home.
