CARBONDALE - Mildred W. Brown, 90, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013, during a visit with her son in Memphis TN.
She was born Jan. 16, 1923 in Kenefic Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lydia Wade; and her siblings, Robert, Eugenia, Ruby Alice, and Eleanor.
She married George C Brown in December 1951 while living in Tulsa, Okla., later moving to Carbondale, where they lived happily the rest of their lives. George died June 16, 2012.
Her only child, a son, Thomas, his wife GeorgiAnn, and their children Jacob Brown, Eric Engler and Jessica Engler survive to remember her and celebrate her legacy.
Mildred was a loving and supportive wife to George for over 60 years, a gracious and loving mom to their son, and a passionate advocate for her grandson. She is sorely missed, but our grief is tempered by the years of memories of her kindness, humor, tireless love, and the knowledge of her recent reunion with the love of her life, George, and their Savior.
