Lynn Gilmore Obituary
Lynn was born Feb. 23, 1944, in LaSalle, daughter of Dale Hess and Myra Jean Pearson of Utica. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School, was an R.N. graduate of Sauk Valley College in Dixon and obtained a bachelor's degree in 1982 from College of St. Francis.
She worked in Union County Hospital and Clyde L. Choate Mental Health Center in Anna for 39 years.
She is survived by her son, James Christopher Gilmore of Jonesboro; her brother, Gerard, and wife, Sharon Pearson, of Grand Rapids, Minn.; two nieces, Gretchen Pearson of Park Rapids, Minn., and Bridget Dalrymple of Minneapolis; grandnephew, Warren Dale Dalrymple; as well as an abundance of friends, surrogate children and grandchildren.
Lynn was a vivacious, determined individual with exceptional artistic talents, an avid sense of humor and dry wit which were natural magnets for attracting friends and loved ones. Her caring for others was reciprocated in her hours of need. She had a fond love for any type of decorative frogs, as well as flowers and birds.
She touched many lives and hearts through her journey in life and her love for others. Everyone should be so lucky to have so many people surround her and her loved ones in the time of need!
She was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Anna, and willingly gave her time and energy for various functions, especially Christmas, the annual rummage sale and her godchild, Gabiel Stadlebacher.
She was preceded in death by her parents Dale Hess Pearson (1976) and Myra Jean Pearson (1977), and her dear friends, Laura Neal, Delores Brown and Jim Ray.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, in St. Mary's Church in Anna, with Father Federico officiating.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or PAWS and will be accepted at the church and by Crain Funeral Home, 135 W. Vienna St., Anna IL 62906.
Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
