Ruth Allen Obituary

ANNA -- Ruth Allen, 64, died at 12:36 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, in Union County Hospital in Anna.

She was born Feb. 17, 1947, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Howard F. and Helen (Linton) Allen.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Silliman of Murphysboro, Lois Silliman and Tasha Mealer, both of Anna; two sons, Harold Silliman of Jonesboro and Shawn Silliman of Anna; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Allen of Anna and Doug Allen of Fort Worth, Texas; four sisters, Elizabeth Glasford and Shirley Myers, both of Anna, Patty Dunston of Tamms and Diana Cargill of Dongola; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lara Silliman; one sister, Sue Dixon; and a great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Silliman.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Charles Allen officiating. Interment will be in Mission Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the funeral home.
