No matter what write here, it will not be sufficient to express my gratitude to this man. In stature, Mr. Moore was an average man however, in my eyes and in the eyes of many of his other students, he was a giant of a man. Never have I met another who has inspired me as much as he did. He had an uncanny ability to reach inside of you and pull out something within you that you never knew was there... show you where it was... what it was... and how to bend it to your will. He did more than teach us to play music. He taught us to FEEL music. No matter what instrument we played, he taught us that it could become an extension of our selves. For those of us who already had an innate love of music, he taught us how to understand what it was that we loved. He taught us that music is what feelings sound like. He taught us to PRACTICE EVERY DAY that which we loved so dearly. I learned from him that if I don't practice for one day, I can tell the difference. If I don't practice for two days, the people closest in my life can tell the difference. And if I don't practice for three days... the whole world can tell the difference. Simply put, Mr. Moore made me a better person. He taught me to never settle for mediocrity. He taught me that no matter what I thought my limitations were, those were only my thoughts... not my limitations. He inspired me then to be better than I was. He inspires me still today to be more than the sum of my parts... to become more than I currently am. He gave me an appreciation of more than just music. He gave me an appreciation for life itself. He stands above all others in the sphere of influence in my life. And he leaves a legacy that will live on through the generations of children to come from those of us whose lives he touched. God bless you Mr. Moore, as you have blessed those of us fortunate enough to have had you in our lives.

RIP Mr Moore- you were the BEST band instructor ever! Not only did you teach me about classical music, you taught me I was special and even tho I was a nerd, I was GOOD at something! When I had eye surgery in 7th grade, I will never forget how you let me tag along with you....you made a very hard time a little easier. God Bless you.
