Charlene Riva Obituary

WEST FRANKFORT -- Charlene Riva, 83, died at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, in Herrin Hospital.

She was born May 9, 1928, in West Frankfort to Charles and Lillian (Fox) McDonald.

She was a loving mother and grandmother; member of First Christian Church in West Frankfort.

Survivors include daughters: Kathi (Patrick) Waite of Capron and Karen (James) Kirkendall of Whately, Mass.; sister, Helen Robinson of San Diego; six grandchildren, Theresa Schoepf, Mary Waite, Amy Waite, Jacquie Waite, Christopher (Diane) Kirkendall, Scott (Stephanie) Kirkendall; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Clarence McClatchey and Charles Riva.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, in First Christian Church in West Frankfort with Miniser Jason Ishmael officiating. Burial will be in Denning Cemetery on Orient Road. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 20, at the church.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church. Envelopes will be available and accepted at the church.

Union Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
