JOHNSTON CITY - Florence (Venable) Wyatt Hudson, 91, formerly of Johnston City, passed away at 2:48 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, in Baptist Health in Paducah.

Florence was born Oct. 27, 1921, in Karnak, the daughter of John and Mae Venable.
Florence married Lemuel Donovan (L.D.) Wyatt who preceded her in death.
Florence worked at the Johnston City Water Department for many years. She also worked at the Holiday Inn in Marion as a night auditor where she met and married her second husband, Harold Hudson who preceded her in death. Florence had a very active life traveling with her second husband and as a tour guide. She enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Some of her poems have been published.
She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member.
She is survived by a son, Don (Elaine) Wyatt of Apache Junction, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Brian (Candace) Wyatt of Queen Valley, Ariz., Kelly Morren of Phoenix, Ariz.; two great-grandchildren, Lyle and Heather Wyatt of Queen Valley, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Dolores Venable of Downers Grove, Mildred Hudson of Beech Grove, Ind., and Jean Wyatt of Herrin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bill Venable; and grandson, Ron Wyatt.
A special thanks to everyone at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis. An extra special thank you to "cousin Kathy" Reagor for your love and support. Everyone who knew Florence loved her and she will be missed.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. Bruce Howell (nephew) officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery of Marion. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
