Francine Straub Obituary

CHRISTOPHER -- Francine Straub, 60, passed away at 9:05 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2011, at her home.

Mildred was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Christopher to Marvel Urban and Lillie Julia (Simion) Straub.

She is survived by her mother, Lillie Julia Straub Hanna of Benton; three sisters, Marvelane Cole, Mary Lou Tucker and Jane Wright all of Christopher; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvel and Rose Straub of Buckner; and a special aunt and her husband, Christina and Harry Thomas of Buckner.

Her father, Marvel Urban Straub, preceded her in death.

Mildred was a member of Ministry for the Broken Hearted Church in Christopher. She had worked as a nurse's aid in home health care.

Services for Ms. Straub will be at 2 p.m., Monday, May 9, in Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler, with Brother Doug Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Mulkeytown. Visiting hours are after noon Monday until the hour of the services at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in memory of Ms. Straub are suggested to the Ministry for the Broken Hearted Church, 103 W. Market St., Christopher, IL 62822.

Jane & Marvel & families, I am so sorry about Milly! I hadn't seen her recently, but always found her a sweet, funny person to be around. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
