AVA -- Fred Lee Childers, 62, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in St. Frances Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.

He was born Oct. 9, 1951, in Murphysboro to W.H. Childers and Norma (Grammer) Childers.
He had worked as a truck driver.
Mr. Childers was a member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna.
Fred loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was an avid Cardinals fan and also a Bears fan. He enjoyed spending time with his many good and close friends.
Fred is survived by three daughters, Amy Camden and her husband, Sonny Camden, of Cobden, Angie Childers of Moline and Crystal Childers and her fiancée, Robbie Dunn, of Marion; four grandchildren, Clayton Camden, Reece Welcher, Lori Beth Camden and Colton Camden, and two on the way, Mackenzie and Ryder; two great-grandchildren, Carter Sims and Caden Hopewell; two sisters, Charlotte Taylor and Jean Holliday, both of Murphysboro; many nieces, including Veronica, Vicki, Trish and Brenda; one nephew, Mike Holliday; a cousin, Doug Grammer; his caregiver and friend, Darlesha Petty; many close friends; and his dog, Boo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His body will be cremated and visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, at Pettett Funeral Home. Then a celebra-tion of his life will be later at 7 p.m. Saturday at Boswell's in Anna.
