HERRIN - Harry Raymond "Pat" McNeill, 73, passed away 11:43 a.m. Nov. 21, 2013, in Herrin Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Pat retired as an electrician, having worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion for 25 years.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, and V F W Post 1301 in Marion.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Pat loved sports, and followed his favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49er's and the Los Angeles Lakers, taking care of his lawn and listening to music on his front porch.
Pat was born March 17, 1940, in Great Falls, Mont., to Harry and Helena Juanita (Grant) McNeill.
He was united in marriage with Marianne Bauch on July 27, 1966, in Benton.
Surviving are his wife, Marianne McNeill of Herrin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kim and Chuck Luton of Dover, Del., and Diana Patricia Becker of Herrin; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Patrick and Farah McNeill of Herrin; one grandson, Houston Scott Becker of Herrin; brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Lisa Lyell of Goreville; sister, Michele Fagundes of Atwater, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins. He never met a stranger and had many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry McNeill and Helena McNeill Kelton and a sister, Wilda Faye Davis.
In accordance with his wishes, Pat will be cremated.
A time of visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Nov. 24, in Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 24, in Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin, with Monsignor Ken Schaefer officiating. A private family interment with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1301 Ceremonial Team of Marion and Illinois Army National Guard Honor Detail will be Monday, Nov.25, in San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin.

The family of Pat McNeill wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. George Kao and his staff for the excellent care and concern provided to him and his family. A special thank you goes to the many family and friends who blessed him with personal visits and prayers. This kindness has not gone unnoticed and is truly appreciated. It is comforting to know he was surrounded by so much love.
