DONGOLA -- Jeffery Ray "Jeffro" Baker, 53, died at 9:24 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Oct. 29, 1959, in Anna, the son of Thomas J. and Bertha Lucille Trexler Baker.
Jeffro is survived by his two sons, Joshua (Beverly) Baker of Lick Creek and Dustin Baker of Dongola; stepdaughter, Reba Robinson of Dongola; father, Thomas J. Baker of Dongola; special friend, Julia Stites of Dongola; special grand-daughter, Taylor Marie Baker; five sisters, Lucille (Bill) Sampson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Brenda Brown of Jonesboro, Jo (Ronnie) Lovell of Jonesboro, Jan (Billy) Robertson of Hollister, Fla., and Kim Gentry of Makanda; three brothers, Mike Baker of Minnesota, Scott (Rhonda) Baker of Dongola and Brian Baker of Jonesboro; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother; and one uncle, Buddy Baker.
Jeffro worked many years as a truck driver. He loved the outdoors and was an avid deer hunter. He proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard.
Services for Mr. Jeffery Ray "Jeffro" Baker will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Pastor Paul Tirey officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of VFW in Anna and Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team of Marion. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.
