Kenneth Kribs Obituary

CHESTER -- Kenneth William Kribs, 87, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, in St. Ann's Healthcare Center.

He was born to the late William and Juanita (McGeehee) Kribs on April 8, 1924, in Edwardsville.

He married Beulah G. Mudd on Aug. 19, 1946, in Prairie du Rocher. She preceded him in death Oct. 26, 2009.

He had been a salesman for Nabisco for 39 years.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 487, VFW Post 3553, Knight of Columbus 3790, Elks Lodge 1629 and Eagles Club Aerie 3252, all in Chester.

Survivors include two children and their spouses, Sandra (Steve) Otten and Rodney (Tammy) Kribs, all of Chester; one brother, Father Charles Kribs of Belleville; two sisters, Pam (Kriete) Hollrah of St. Charles, Mo., Joan (Richard) Moran of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Otten of Union, Mo., Bradley Otten of Vandalia, Kole (Andi) Kribs of Scott Air Force Base, Madison Kribs of Chester, four great-grandchildren Jozee, Camdyn, Elleigh and Aubrey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beulah; stepmother, Grace Kribs; and two brothers, Gary and Lewis Kribs.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, with Father Eugene Wojcik officiating. Entombment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 7:30 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, both at Pechacek-McClure Funeral Home in Chester.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church or St. Mary's Catholic School.
