DU QUOIN - Virginia Rose Beggs, 82, passed away at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at her residence.

Virginia had been a homemaker and had worked for the City of Du Quoin Water Department. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She was born June 14, 1930, in Du Quoin, the daughter of Fred G. and Leota J. (Brock) Keller.
She married Don Walter Beggs July 3, 1948, in First United Methodist Church in Carbondale and he preceded her in death Aug. 16, 2012.
She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Campbell of Lancaster, Ohio and Sue Knapp and husband, Steve, of Du Quoin; two sons, David Beggs of Murphysboro and Terry Beggs and wife, Susan, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; one brother, Julius Keller and wife, Wanda, of Du Quoin; two sisters, Faye Harris and husband, Wade, of Johnsburg, and Maretta Hall and husband, Paul, of Citrus Heights, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin, with the Rev. Scott Baird officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Du Quoin. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Friends may make memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Du Quoin and will be accepted at the funeral home.
