Jeffrey Perkoff Obituary
He was born Jan. 15, 1959, to Dr. Morton and Margaret (Gettner) Perkoff in Philadelphia, Pa.
He was a native of Short Hills, N.J. He graduated from Millburn High School and attended Yale University. During the mid-70's, he took a leave of absence from his studies at Yale and worked on restoring a 1929 Model A. While on leave he was involved in a car accident and hit by a drunk driver.
In researching rehabilitation options following the accident, his father, Dr. Morton Perkoff, learned of NeuroRestorative. Jeffrey arrived in Carbondale in 1986 to continue his rehabilitation. Through hard work, persistence and support from NeuroRestorative, he was able to regain many of his motor and physical skills and live an independent, fulfilling life.
Jeffrey earned his bachelor's degree from SIU, and was an active member in the Carbondale Jewish Community.
While on a vacation trip to the Philippines, he met his loving wife, Grace.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Perkoff of Carbondale; three children, Ken Perkoff, Jane Perkoff and Dennis Perkoff of Carbondale; a sister, Susan (Perkoff) Bass of Washington, D.C.; and a brother, John Perkoff of Millburn, N.J.; five nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Morton and Margaret Perkoff.
Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, with Sam Goldman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park, Garden of Beth Jacob. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Sunday at the Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey or the Center from Comprehensive Services and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Please accpet condolences from the Board, staff and volunteers at the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey. Jeff was the catalyst for his parents, Margie and Mort, involvement in our organization. Karl and I were very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. We knew Jeff from of Beth Jacob, for many many years. His devotion to the synagogue was real and amazing. I pray for comfort and peace for you all.

So sorry for your loss. I am from the dental office of Dr. Dan Massie, where Jeff was a patient. In fact he was in the office just a few days before his passing and he was so much fun, we loved his visits with us. In know I speak for our entire office, we are so sorry.
