SESSER -- Reba Alice Culley Hutson, 88, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, in Herrin Hospital.

She was born Nov. 12, 1922, to Charles and Mary Culley. She was united in marriage to Curtis E. Hutson of Sesser on Sept. 10, 1939. The Hutsons enjoyed their home life for more than 71 years as full companions, sharing the responsibilities and blessings that come with raising a family. Reba was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved cooking and raising flowers.
Four children blessed this home, all of whom survive, daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Kenneth Kirkpatrick of McLeansboro; daughter and son-in-law, Reba and Brooks High of Anna; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Rhonda Hutson of Sesser; and daughter, June Hutson of Sesser. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, Sean Kirkpatrick of Oakland, Calif., Quinn and Anne Kirkpatrick of Rock Island, Stephanie and Scott Goeke of Hazelwood, Mo., Stacie and Doug Anderson of Olivette, Mo., Ryan and Jennifer Huie of Sesser, Joel and Ammie Huie of Red Bud, Darren Hutson of Chicago, Kaitlin Hutson of Decatur, Eric and Kelly White of Benton, Terry White of Valier, Kari Anne White of Scheller, April Leber of Valier, Victor and Rachel Leber of Sesser; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and neph-ews.
Reba was baptized in 1944 and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in Sesser.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hutson; her parents, Charles and Mary Culley; two brothers, Earl and Kenneth Culley; and six sisters, Wavia Price, Emma Farthing, Ruby Culley, Sylvia Wiles, Frieda Furlow and Edna May Culley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Brother Mark Miller officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, dona-tions may be made to the Maple Hill Cemetery Fund.
