STIRITZ -- Tim "Tim Bob" Cravens, 65, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at his residence.

Tim formerly worked as a coal miner at Old Ben 24 Coal Mine.
He was a member of Herrin Elks Lodge 1146 and a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U. S. Navy.
Tim was born Oct. 4, 1947, in Herrin to the Rev. Carl E. and Wilma L. (Mitchell) Cravens.
He was united in marriage to Jeanie "Peaches" Harris on June 11, 1989, in Paducah.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Cravens of Stiritz; son, Derek Cravens of Energy; his daughter, Avery Cravens; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kimberly Absher of Herrin and her daughters, McKinleigh and Haleigh Absher, and Kelly and Scott Taylor of Carterville and children, Chloe and Cole Taylor; and stepson, Allen Smith, currently serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Boston, and his daughters, Abby and Emily Smith.
He is also survived by three sisters and a two brothers-in-law, Kay and Jerry Drummond of Energy, Karen Gurley of Highland and Julie and Dale Bowers of Energy; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Fred and Gail Cravens of Energy, Gary and Gloria Cravens of Marion, Ivan "Jumbo" and Sue Cravens of Herrin and Roger Cravens of Herrin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, Gary Gurley.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, in Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with the Rev. Todd Hawk officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
