John C. Asel, 89, of the Marion section of Southington, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the Southington Care Center. He was the husband of the late Margott (Eisenbiser) Asel.

John was born on Dec. 19, 1923 in Waterbury, the son of the late John and Florence Asel. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement he was employed by Chase Brass Co. in Waterbury and Pratt & Whitney in Middletown. He was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. John enjoyed hunting and fishing especially in Vermont, he was an avid golfer and loved his dog, Holly.

He is survived by two sons, Gary Asel and wife, Priscilla, of Plantsville and Allan Asel and wife, Annebelle, of Naugatuck. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
