SOUTHINGTON - James J. Randi, 93, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away peacefully at the Masonicare Hospice on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. He was the husband of Anna (Ardigliano) Randi.

Born in New Haven on Sept. 21, 1919, to the late Giacomino and Nicolina (Palmieri) Randi. James worked for 25 years for the New Haven Clock Company and for 25 years for United Illuminating Company until he retired in 1981. He enjoyed bowling and loved to watch sports. His greatest pleasure was to spend time with his family. He was very proud of his grandsons and never missed a chance to attend their school events or their baseball or football games. He enjoyed getting together with his brothers and sisters and their families. Family was always most important to him. He always expresses his kindness, sincerity and commitment to those he loved. His sweet demeanor and genuine caring nature made him the "Nice guy" he was, someone who was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife Anna of 54 years, he leaves his daughter, Lenora Casserino and husband, Scott ,of Southington; and two grandsons, Kyle and Kevin Casserino. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six sisters; and five brothers.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 26, at 10 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be sent to the Masonic Home, Health and Hospice, 22 Masonic Ave., Wallingford, CT 06479.
