WALLINGFORD - Richard M. Leonhardt, 68, of Wallingford, loving husband of Judith Voelkl Leonhardt, died at his residence on Friday, April 19, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Rich was born in Bridgeport, July 30, 1944, the son of the late Matthew Leonhardt and Irene Guy Leon-hardt. He was employed as an accountant until his retirement and was later employed by Lowe's in New Haven and Orange.
In addition to his wife, Judith, he is survived by his two daughters, Deb Alza and her husband, J.C., of Greenwich, and Kathleen Leonhardt, of Bridgeport; his stepchildren, Christina Witham and her husband, Michael, of Manchester, and Ernie Voelkl and his wife, Ashley, of Meriden; his grandchildren, Zach and Leila Alza, Frank and Karla Witham, and Alyssa, Nicholas and Haley Voelkl; his great-grandson, J.J. Witham; his sister, Sherrill Leone and her husband, Sam, of Harrison, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Rich's family would like to thank the MidState Oncology Group for their loving care and compassion.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., Monday, April 22, from 1 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. A service will be held in The Yalesville Funeral Home at 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Gifts in his memory may be sent to the Myeloma Foundation, 12650 Riverside Drive, North Hollywood, CA 91607.
